Humantay Lagoon (Day 1)

“Humantay Lagoon is an emerald and turquoise mirror, a jewel of pure, glacial water, born from the melting snows of the ancient Apús. It rests in the lap of the snow-capped giant Salkantay, guarded by the silence of the Andes, offering the pilgrim a sacred encounter where the sky descends to merge with the earth. It is absolute serenity, a vision so pristine that it takes your breath away and reminds you of the majestic purity of the world.”

recomendacion

📄Non-Negotiable Acclimatization: This is the most important point. Do not do this tour on your first or second day in Cusco. You must spend at least 2 or 3 days in the city to acclimatize and avoid altitude sickness.

📄Altitude Sickness Medication: Consider taking Soroche Pills (altitude sickness pills) or coca (tea, leaves, or candies) before and during the trek. Consult a doctor before taking any medication.

📄 Bring Cash (Peruvian Soles): You will need cash to pay the community entrance fee and for horse rentals. ATMs are not available in Soraypampa.

📄Hydration and Energy: Bring at least 1 liter of water and high-calorie snacks (nuts, granola bars, chocolate). Energy depletes very quickly at that altitude.

📄 Dress in Layers: It will be very cold in the early morning and upon arrival at the lagoon, but the Andean sun is very strong during the trek. Wear:
📄A thermal base layer. • A fleece or polar fleece jacket.

📄A waterproof/windproof jacket.

📄Gloves, a wool hat, and sunglasses.

Gallery

“Behind every image there is a conversation that taught us something, a scent that reminded us of childhood, and a sunset that made us feel insignificant and, at the same time, part of something immense. The true treasure is not the souvenirs, but the collection of memories that the passenger takes with them, now a narrator of their own adventure.”

“They say we travel three times: when we dream it, when we live it, and when we remember it. For the traveler who observes this gallery, the third time is the sweetest. Here lie the fragments of a time when the horizon was the only goal, and each unknown face became a brief but precious chapter in the infinite book of human adventure.”
