📆 6-Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Chikiska – Playa Rosalina
Day 2: Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao Ruins
Day 3: Choquequirao – Rio Blanco – Maizal
Day 4: Maizal – San Juan Pass – Yanama
Day 5: Yanama – Totora – Lucmabamba
Day 6: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picch

Day 1: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Chikiska – Playa Rosalina

Early morning drive (4–5 hours) from Cusco to Capuliyoc (2,850m)
Hike down into the Apurímac Canyon, with stunning views
Pass through Chikiska before reaching Playa Rosalina (1,500m) for the first campsite

Day 2: Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao Ruins

Cross the Apurímac River and ascend to Marampata (2,900m)
Hike to Choquequirao (3,050m), one of the largest and least visited Inca cities
Explore terraces, temples, and ceremonial plazas
Camp near the ruins

Day 3: Choquequirao – Rio Blanco – Maizal

Trek towards the remote Pinchaunuyoc terraces
Descend to Rio Blanco (1,900m) and cross the river
Climb to Maizal (3,000m) and camp in a scenic location

Day 4: Maizal – San Juan Pass – Yanama

Ascend through cloud forests and high-altitude landscapes
Cross the San Juan Pass (4,200m), enjoying spectacular views
Descend to Yanama (3,500m), a small Andean village
Camp with breathtaking mountain scenery

Day 5: Yanama – Totora – Lucmabamba

Morning transport or hike to Totora
Continue through lush coffee and banana plantations
Reach Lucmabamba (2,000m), close to the Inca Trail’s last section
Camp in a tropical setting

Day 6: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu

Hike up to Llactapata ruins, offering the first views of Machu Picchu
Descend through cloud forests to Hidroelectrica
Walk or take a train to Aguas Calientes
Optional visit to Machu Picchu in the afternoon (or the next morning)

Original passport – expiration date no less than 7 months

★ Good quality sleeping bag for cold temperatures
★ Trekking poles – can be rented at agency
